Ah, so excited because my persnickety prints order arrived! I had some of my 3×4 and 6×4 digital cards printed up, from various designers like brittish designs/sahlin studios, digital design essentials and one little bird designs 🙂
I have seriously got to get some 6×4 photos printed. I need some photos to put in my albums! I have gone a little bit nuts with the cards, I have a bunch of simple stories cards in addition to the ones I had printed and I am awaiting my Midnight edition of Project Life to arrive which I pre-ordered months ago 🙂 I cannot wait! But what use are the cards if I have no printed photos to use them with 😉
I had some laptop issues which are now thankfully resolved & it is working again so I don’t really have much of an excuse. I’m taking 3 days off work starting with today, to catch up on some rest and sleep, as at 17 & a half weeks I appear to wake up every few hours! But in addition to that I have some serious sorting out to do around here. We need to make some room around here, and that means I need to go through my craft supplies and that my mini craft table needs to go later on this year to make room for a cot. That in itself has been a headache. There was one we wanted but even though our bed is up against the wall (that’s my side of the bed, not sure for how much longer though as I need to climb over my husband in the night to pee. I never have to get up in the night normally but I won’t be able to climb soon lol) the cot was too big for our bedroom, unless we wanted to try and squeeze between the bedside table past the cot and have a narrow passage to the wardrobe & built in cupboard! We have since decided on a winnie the pooh cot bed but need to double check the measurements, it is smaller than the other one though and in sure it will be OK. I have several albums in my cupboard for my cousins kids that I need to finish off and give to them to clear some more space! I have a heck of a lot of work to do.
I have also started on Taz’s album, and while putting it all together this morning, I realised I actually need to print some more little “filler” cards. I used Digital Design Essentials “A Dogs Life” kit. And I may have put in an order at Crafty-Charlie for some more page protectors, and to switch Taz’s album to an orange one and use this green one as either a pregnancy/baby’s first year or December Daily (I’m not sure whether if we find out baby’s sex whether I may just get a pink or blue album instead for that!)
And I have also done this for my Project Life album:
But one thing that made us chuckle, we asked Oliver what he thought his new cousin was going to be and he said a girl, and when asked if he wanted to kiss baby (in my tummy), he said “No, I will wait until it comes out!” Love him! Gareth originally thought baby was a boy but the more he thinks about it, he thinks it’s a girl. My brother has 2 boys and we found out my brother in law’s baby, due roughly 4 weeks before our baby is also a boy. I have already said I have no idea what baby is, nor would I like to guess!
On Friday the snow came down, a LOT. Nobody was going anywhere around our part of the neighbourhood, even the buses weren’t coming up our end and so mum had to walk to where the buses were actually travelling to be able to get in to work but then the office was closed at lunch time. Gareth’s office was closed and my brother couldn’t get his van out either so Friday was a fantastic day! There were snowball fights, snow angels and sledge rides 🙂
Oliver had lots of fun throwing snowballs at us all!
And Elijah got in my sledge so I pulled him around which he loved!
Stewart made a snow angel to which Oli got in the snow next to him and instead of moving his arms and legs, wiggled his bottom which made us giggle!
however the roads by my flat were just sheets of ice, and the paths were no picnic either. I have spent the entire 7 days in wellies, and Gareth slipped on ice and badly hurt & bruised his foot & hurt his arm. Thankfully my car was at my parents house where they gritted the road so I didn’t have to battle with the ice and I was still able to carry on as normal.
So the week after I last updated, I said my goodbyes to my colleagues and worried about my future, but looked forward to a week helping out my dad. He had treatment at hospital and was on crutches, so I drove him to work for a meeting & we had a few bits to get from Morrisons. I liked helping him out 🙂 And he needed to rest up.
During that week I had 3 leads on a new job which was a surprise to me. One call was within an hour of leaving my job! The one though came on Tuesday, I was told the company wanted to meet me on Thursday, so I went in, they liked me and I started my new job on Monday. It’s been a great week, and this year so far has been just so overwhelming. A friend told me things happen for a reason, but I’ve always been quite skeptical but my luck has truly switched around and it’s strange how things have turned out for me so far, but I have indeed managed to salvage 2013 😀 Yay!
Christmas Eve is tomorrow! Can we just pause for a little bit, I have 2 more presents left to finish! Only have half a day at work to get through before swinging by the shop for last minute essentials and hubby’s stocking gifts.
I cheated with everyone’s presents at work this year, I found some Christmas scented tea lights on sale in Sainsburys, so bought a box of those (bonus for me, I get the left overs!) and some of the Soft Caramels from Tesco. Cheap and cheerful! I had some wrap left over from the easter eggs last year so I used the last of that to make them look pretty! It’s OK, everyone has already received them 😉
Oliver made us some ornaments for the tree 🙂
And yesterday Elijah was playing at Nan Irene’s, as it was the Saturday before Christmas we had a full house!
A lot of stuff is going on at the moment, so I will be missing in action (though I may tweet a little, so keep your eyes peeled and follow me! @mmmbisto ) I shall be spending time with family and will not be blogging again until the New Year. So I will leave you saying:
MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Friday after work I had the nice treat of my “no sleep for banditos” members only EP from Hanson. Bit of “up all night” cranked up on the headphones was just what I needed after the return to work after a 4 day weekend!
Saturday I had a bit of a surprise. Gareth and our friend matt in Florida both concocted a plan that involved me stood in the living room scratching my head wondering where on earth this noise was coming from only then to hear matt chuckling away to himself so I brought up his chat window when I realised what was going on. Lots of plans for our trip coming together though 🙂
On Sunday it was up bright and early for swimming! It was just me, mum, Stewart, Claire, Oliver and Elijah. But we had lots of fun. Me and Oli sat on one of the floats they have in the pool with the noodles in each hand “rowing” in the pool both singing “row, row, row your boat”. I will have to make little “memory Journalling cards” to put in the boys albums so I can note such gems down 😉 cannot wait for this Sunday as my dad is coming too so I will get to see him on fathers day, and Gareth has been instructed to join in as well!
And best off all? Tuesday I weighed in and was delighted to see 2 whole pounds lost this week! Plus the pound I lost the previous week even though I was convinced I had actually put it on, I am now back on track before my hiccup! 8 pound left to go!
I had a fantastic weekend 🙂 Well, apart from spending 3 and a half hours waiting for Gareth’s car to get fixed LOL. We visited my nan where it was just my parents and my brother’s family, before we headed off to Cardiff to celebrate our anniversary, hanging out with my youngest Brother in Law.
Sunday was super fun! Besides the glorious weather we’d had for days Gareth and myself went to Matalan with the last of the gas/electric money that we had leftover once the central heating was switched off and the evenings got lighter 😉 and after we had some food from a burger place on Saturday 🙂 so I got a couple of new outfits which was MUCH needed! Then it was to my brother’s house for a BBQ 😀
It was nice to grab the SLR. I got some quality Oliver & Elijah time, and as we played with the little swimming froggy in Oliver’s sand & water pit it was suggested that while the weather was gorgeous we should head to my sister in law’s aunt’s house to swim in her pool if no one else was using it. Lucky us, we could go, and I sat on a float in the pool along with Oliver as we paddled around, and then I got to walk around the shallow area holding on to Elijah. Stewart suggested we could make it a weekly thing on a Sunday morning, so I can’t wait! Though I seriously learned my lesson as my beloved Hanson symbol ring and wedding ring got severely tarnished so I won’t be wearing them in the pool again. Thankfully my parents fix everything and I took my jewellery to them and my dad sorted it. Dad for the win!
So I turned 29 a couple of weeks back, and as usual with work and life in general getting in my way I’ve not blogged (in fact, my digital kit I’ve been working on hasn’t been touched in some time and I have been neglecting my CT work this month too, I am such a bad person!)
The point of this post was really to give myself a quick toot toot lol, as Cathy Zielske herself picked my above layout as one of the giveaway winners in her Type class so I’ve been especially excited. Even more so when I note that I started that layout right before bedtime on the final night of class (again, had been super busy!) and I nearly never got to do it and I’m so glad I did!
I’ve been MIA for 4 days, but Thursday I got my boxes back from my parents after selling stuff in a car boot, and everything else went to charity. I just wanted my space back, so I have been slowly getting things to how they should be.
The pages I have done this week:
I’m super excited, I’m hoping to apply for a design team. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do 🙂
Both me & my husband had the day off today, we did errands, shopping etc and went to see our nephew this afternoon 🙂
Now here’s to hoping the weather is going to be dry at least over the next week!
I had to use alternative means to contact my host but I’m back on my site, just an hour ago, from home! Toot toot!
I found this photo on Gareth’s old phone and love it. It’s totally me and Taz 🙂 Anywho, my Week In The Life project is finished and I will get pictures of it. I am getting a new toy tomorrow as well so pictures of that when it arrives.
I have been doing some digital scrapbooking a lot the last couple of weeks. I’m a big fan of Karla Dudley, after taking her Journal 3 Ways class and getting her downloads as part of class. Totally in love!

Another life saver? The one and only Cathy Zielske. My scrapbook idol! I have spent a few pennies at her Designer Digitals shop, and I have to admit I bought her template pack as I have all my cousin’s kids to make scrapbook pages for, and not enough time, and to be honest their scrapbooks are not the top of my scrapping priority, so I have found, dragging and dropping the photos I snapped of them at my nan’s house with some of the awesome digi kits I have and need to justify buying them (LOL!) so quick and easy. No mess, no fuss!

Sorry about the random post, but I wanted you all to know I was back. I do have a Blackberry now and have an app for WordPress on there so I can post (hence previous post!) I will be back with some eye candy! 🙂
You might also be seeing a lot of activity over there in the side bar. Follow me on twitter for my latest random thoughts 🙂
I’m on a roll with Oliver’s scrapbook. I need some help from Stewart though. He sent my mum some photos and she bluetoothed them to me, but in the meantime, I have started scrapbooking some photos I took on Saturday:
and here’s 2 photos from Saturday, minus a scrapbook page lol. It was just me, dad, Stewart, Claire and Oliver at nan’s house, so it was quite nice and relaxed with lots of Oliver time 🙂
