Love my mummy

Mum came around and helped me so much today. After all the drama back in January/February the council’s contractors rang me about an electric fire. This made me so mad and made the pain in my chest worse. Funnily though when I answered the phone the guy said: “Is your parents home?” and I just said: “No”. Why does this always happen to me?

So the guy comes out and has a look at the fire, takes pictures to e-mail off and took a complete ear bashing from both my mum and myself and by this point, I was in floods of tears recalling the day I got home from work to be sat in the cold after my boiler packed up and my gas fire was still disconnected and how the council were completely incompetant in the matter.

Sunday was spent in bed all day, and Monday I just wanted to get out the house, so I suggested a nearby carboot and fete just so I could walk around after being stuck in bed all this time. After all of 10 mins at the fete which was incredibly disappointing, Mum (who came with me & G) suggested Blooms garden centre. We didn’t even get to look all the way around. After me and mum drooled over the Yankee Candles and grabbed 3 each, G was hungry and grabbed a sandwich. He sat down and started eating when I started coughing so badly the pain got really bad. I was crying, so we ended up paying for the candles and I came home. G was so annoyed with the NHS and how things were turning out with my pain that he took me back down the hospital last night for the out of hours doctor as it was the bank holiday and I no other doctors were open.
Finally this one said that it sounded like a chest infection and prescribed me antibiotics (this brings my medication count up to 5 now for this) but I do feel a little better this afternoon.
This morning I was awake at 4am. Couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe. It was 6am before I could get up for my painkillers. By lunch time though I hadn’t coughed since I first got up and I felt the pain killers were working. Which after all this time is such a relief. The pain is back right at this very moment though, cos I just had a big coughing fit 🙁 Ouchy. But once G is back from work we can eat then I can have my tablets. Can’t have them on an empty stomach so I’ve had to eat at the oddest times, Like a bowl of cereal at 6 this morning when I wasn’t even hungry. Ugh.

But my mum came round and cleaned the kitchen, did the washing, washing up, vacuuming, ironing etc 🙂 super mum 😀 And for that I’m so grateful and she knows how it’s been driving me nuts. I wanted to do it, I was desperate for it to be done, but I simply couldn’t do it.

Sad, sad day.

Can you believe, this was me yesterday:
Me on the pier
Walking along the pier.

This is the pier today, burnt to the ground:

I’m seriously upset 🙁 I’ve been going there since I was a baby. I couldn’t believe my ears when I was watching GMTV this morning and they said at 7.40am “Breaking news – Weston Pier is on fire”. It started at 7am, they think it was a fire that started in the fish and chip kitchen on the pier, and it just took over. Very sad.
Me and mum on the Pier Me, Stewart and the Grand Pier

To make things worse, we’re having a thunderstorm and torrential rain right now. It was just over a year ago that we had the floods and we’re due more heavy rain during the night. They’ve been saying on the local news for the last 2 weeks that if we have rain like last year, we’re still not prepared and could endure more flooding. Poor baby got soaked on the way home from work. He had to change.

… and a fun night was had by all!

Stewart was originally in his wedding suit, and Claire her wedding dress, but as the night progressed they both changed – although Stewart was the first one to change lol!
It was seriously a great night 🙂 Bit bummed out that someone managed to get what I can only suggest is a big cola stain on the white linen guestbook I made. Dad is helping me to get it out with some upholstery cleaner, so fingers crossed. Mum cried when I took it to my nan’s house to show everyone. It was the first time she saw it. Everyone said I should have been so proud of it, but I was kinda nit-picking at things. When you make something yourself you notice all the little flaws in it cos you know it’s there lol. But no one else noticed luckily.

My photobooks came yesterday too and were a big hit. Mum and dad have theirs and Stewart has stolen mine so he can carry it around with him easily and have all the photos with him to show people. I think he suggested we buy another one lol, so maybe the new one will be mine this time lol!

I bought a gorgeous wedding album from WH Smiths as well (cost quite a heck of a lot, but I didn’t get S&C a wedding present, so this and their scrapbook will be their present from me), and the plan is to meet with Claire’s parents to exchange wedding photos, so I can put some of theirs into S&C’s album too. Dad got a really candid one of me, Stewart and Claire before everyone started getting ready for the wedding. We’re all sat, my eyes glued to the TV. I think we were watching something on MTV about Transformers movie… otherwise Stewart had just changed the channel and we were sat watching Jimmy Neutron on Nickelodeon.

She also has the cutest “royal wave” – just like the Queen lol!

Lauren: “Oh no – it’s that crazy lady again, with a camera for a face!”

and to share some stuff I’m loving right now:
Unphotographable. A fantastic idea, especially for scrapbookers simply because you cannot take a photo of everything – but just because of this doesn’t mean a great moment or event needs to be forgotten just because there is no photo.
Pinkpaislee. I’ve been following Holly McCaig for quite sometime, and even went through a phase where I only purchased Holly’s digital kits. I absolutely love her work – from her digital kits to her photography, and when I saw she was doing actual paper products I saved and waited and this week I finally got her Office Lingo line… and I adore it. Can’t wait to scrap!
Two Peas Creating Garden. Love love love. Full of inspiration. And I just can’t help but drool over the mini books section. Because I am a sucker for minibooks.
Bento. Yes I am a fussy eater, but I’m loving the idea. Cute looking, healthy packed lunchboxes. I’ve added the EAT MY BENTO LJ community to my bloglines so I can catch up on stuff, and although hasn’t been updated in a while is still so worthwhile checking out. I’m currently browsing the blueberryland store thinking how awesome it would be to have a cute bento box 🙂 Maybe someday soon.
