How I Use Google Drive & G-Suite to organise my life & home

I have free online storage from quite a few places, but the best by far has to be Google Drive for me! I use it for so many different things it has become an invaluable tool for my home, mostly because of the Suite of apps run within it, so I’m going to share with you how I use it…

Play school

I save Dylan’s weekly reports (each week the staff share what Dylan has been doing during his sessions) which I download as a PDF and save in his own playschool folder. I also write up Dylan’s half term reports on Google Docs ready to copy & paste and share through the platform the play school uses.

Organising

The latest project is label tags for Dylan’s toy boxes. We have boxes for his kitchen stuff, building, puzzles, music etc so using the flat icon website, I have put together some labels that he can see without being able to read (although to be fair, Dylan knows by now what toys go in which box really, it will mostly help daddy out!)
I have a DVD inventory in a spreadsheet, I recorded episodes of tv shows off the telly and onto DVDs and made a list of the episodes into a doc file. Plus I made a vision board of our home before we moved in to get a better idea of how we wanted to set up the rooms.
When it comes to car/house insurance renewal, I have documents set up (this helps especially when looking into car insurance for hubby – we currently have joint insurance but when I’m looking for a cheaper deal I need his info) with all the answers I would need to questions on comparison websites. Sometimes the info is saved over to the next year on the website itself, sometimes they disappear so it certainly helps that I have the information to hand!

Scrapbooking

While I don’t keep my digi kits stored here as they would take up far too much storage, I have experimented in digi scrapping within google drawings. On google slides, I have done album mock ups such as an album all about my nan to print on to cardstock and assemble into an album – these of course don’t use any storage space. Slides has become my most used tool, using it as a desktop publishing software.

I have taken online classes, Cathy Zielske is my fave! I have saved a lot of my class materials to my google drive, especially after big picture classes went through a big change and we were encouraged to back up the materials before they were no longer available. I’m hoping to use Slides to prep for a lot of Cathy’s upcoming Design Your Life 2.0 class as well.

Family history

Ancestry showed a really cool binder their genealogists put together, so I decided I could do something similar with google docs. I have made family tree pictures with drawings to insert into the document (I have 2 – one for ancestors on mum’s side and another for ancestors on my dad’s side) and I save research here too.

Planner

Slides has been amazing for me – I started using it as a desktop publishing tool a long time ago before I even realised that was what some other people were doing. I have made planner stickers, inserts & more within it, and I love it! Check out my video on how I use it here.

IFTTT

Rather randomly, I set up ifttt to save weather information to a spreadsheet for my hometown, since 2015. This is especially neat to look back on but other than that it has no purpose, well that I have yet anyway!
I also have a spreadsheet for medication, using the “do button” or “do widget” I press it and it adds a row to the spreadsheet with the date and time as a reminder of when I (or hubby, as he always forgets) or Dylan, takes medicine, so I press the button and I have record of it.

Finance

This has to be one of my ultimate uses. Every new financial year, I have a new household budget spreadsheet. While I use YNAB for tracking and overall household finance, my spreadsheet has the numbers I use for YNAB. As I am on a part time wage & more often than not it varies each month and hubby is paid full time the same amount each month, the spreadsheet works out the percentage we contribute to the household, plus our budget per month listed down, and shows how much I should have towards savings. Best of all it can be viewed by hubby as it is shared.

I also have holiday/vacation budgets spreadsheets, Christmas budget spreadsheets, and when we moved into this house, budget for furniture & moving costs.

Work

While not household, I keep a running log of holiday leave taken from work plus notes of overtime each month I have done. When I worked through an agency, I also kept a running log of holiday accrual and kept a list of appointments when I was pregnant with Dylan plus time I paid back to the company in a spreadsheet so I had it all noted down.

Website (& design)

I decided fairly recently to keep my website “resources” within drive. I stumbled upon Joshua Pomeroy’s YouTube channel about using design in drawings and slides & firstly I thought it was awesome because I used slides for designing planner stickers and inserts already so it was a huge inspiration to me. I began to start putting some of the design resources I collected over the years into drive (they are all still kept in Box as an original though) as G-Suite files and I figured it would be good to keep logo, brand identity, backgrounds, elements, patterns etc in their own folders for ease of access, and as G-Suite files do not count towards storage I have added some images etc as Google Drawings image files.

Google photos

I backed up photos and videos through the app which are also saved to my drive. I have the optimised size and not original saved here purely as a back up. I figure that is better than lost forever, though my photos are also saved to my Flickr from my phone so it’s not a major deal to me, but it’s great to have the peace of mind.

I shall certainly work on a new post with the planner inserts in more depth and share some of my Drive files here as well under downloads for sure so keep an eye out for those!

October 2016

Untitled

I have been stepping up my craft game – and by stepping up I mean actually doing some LOL. The other night after Dylan had gone to bed, I stayed up (too late!) to make some dividers for an A5 Love Doki planner I got. I have been thinking of what to do for next year as this year I have been using a happy planner and that cannot be refilled… The original plan was to do a bullet journal, and I figured that when life gets a bit too hectic a bujo may not be used to its full potential – so my personal sized Love Doki got some new WH Smiths inserts as a back up. Just in case. Some people might wonder what on earth I could possibly put in a planner seeing as I’m just a stay at home mum in the week and at the weekend I just work in a shop… But I essentially have a household to run, and a work rota to keep on top of, and believe me – if I have a bad week and I don’t fill anything in, then both myself and Dylan can stay in our jammies for a couple of days at home (in my defence, I was also not feeling too good).

I was so pleased with how my dividers came out, some ladies in a planner group I belong to asked where I was selling them lol!

Untitled

Dylan also decided that he wanted to be Catboy from PJ Masks. He’s absolutely Mario mad at the moment, and often tells me that he’s Mario and I’m Princess Peach and then we continue what we are doing but I have to refer to him as Mario 🙂 But for a few days I was Night Ninja (with lots of sticky splats!) and he asked if we could make a catboy mask for him and he wanted me to have an Owlette one too, so I picked up enough foam for all 3 PJ Masks just in case he wanted to be Gecko instead – the joys of toddlers!

Untitled

I ran out of hot glue sticks so only Catboy has been completed, but he loves it, even if he has picked at it and broken it a bit so it needs to be fixed! (Again, joy of toddlers lol!)

Untitled

We decided to have a fairly quiet day, I was feeling less than great, so we had a PJ day. We built a fort and cuddled up with blankets and cushions in there (my legs were outside the side hole because I couldn’t fit in completely) we watched some telly, we read books, we cuddled up and played his DS. Later on that day I remembered I still hadn’t seen the Justin Timberlake concert on Netflix so we put it on and danced (I wasn’t particularly concerned about bad words during songs) took a short break for bath time and cuddled up on the sofa to finish it off. It was one of my favourite days – one that I know I will look back on and remember fondly 🙂

Untitled

It seems to be getting colder, our heating was put on the other week, and something my mum used to do for us when we were little was to get 2 Cadbury mini rolls in a bowl and cover them in custard… YUMMY! The custard would melt the chocolate and was a lovely warming treat. We had no mini rolls – not even the Tesco ones we buy – but I did have some tesco cake bars and they did the trick nicely 😉 I have got to make some chocolate crumble/chocolate concrete sometime soon, but today after I got home from work and cooked our tea, both me and Dylan made M&M cookies. ^_^

House tour

Can you believe that we have been in the house for 9 months now? Time is flying by! I filmed this house tour months and months ago, so it was about time that I shared it here with everyone.

Yesterday we had the telly sorted in the bedroom, much to Dylan’s delight – we had a telly in the bedroom in the flat but it wasn’t a huge priority to get one in the house to be fair. The issue we had was that our telly that sat on top of the wardrobe in the flat nicely  was actually too big to be put in the exact same place in the house as the ceilings are surprisingly lower here, and it misses by all of 5mm. So my parents decided when they purchased a new telly for their caravan that they would use it in their spare room (my old bedroom – Stewart’s old bedroom has bunk beds in for my nephews sleep overs) and take it out when they needed it and let us have the old telly as it was small enough to fit.

Dylan was up around about 1am I believe so came in with me (yes, he’s still up at least once a night if not twice or more). 6.30am he was going: “Mummy wake up! Telly on please, want Tiny Pop!”

Geocaching

We attempted Geocaching, and it didn’t go too badly but he absolutely had to have his reigns on. He has a habit of walking/running off, and I couldn’t be chasing after him while trying to spot a cache. He did help me find his very first one and quite enjoyed it, when I told him we were going on a treasure hunt he seemed to enjoy it. We have been out looking for munzees as well by telling him we are playing hide and seek. We have hidden a couple of them and found quite a few 🙂

Painting in the garden. Apart from the fact we seem to be having a pretty pants summer as soon as we have some nice and warm sunshine we go out and make the most of it… Right now it is overcast and a little chilly, we are hoping summer makes a return soon!

Christmas 2015

Dylan loved Christmas this year. He still doesn’t quite *get* it, but when asked what Santa/Father Christmas says he goes: “Ho ho ho!” rather cutely. We put one of our homemade biscuits on a plate plus put a bit of milk out and left it for santa as we told him that he was bringing presents so it was our way of saying thank you… but he was a very naughty boy ALL DAY, and being told that santa wouldn’t bring presents to him just made him laugh at us because he didn’t understand what was going on, but I did say if he gave mummy a big kiss and cuddle that I would put in a good word.

He had a Miles blanket with his name on plus wall stickers for when we paint his room (though he’s not as enthusiastic as he was about the show, and rarely plays with his Miles toy, he still likes it. I recorded 4 DVDs worth of the show before we moved so he still has them to watch) He got Spider-man Duplo and a wooden tool box with tools and screws, a colouring book and a selection box. In his stocking was peppa pig bubble bath with wand to blow bubbles in the bath, toothbrush, peppa pig tooth paste, chocolate coins & a Spider-man surprise egg… He has been obsessed with “surprise-y eggs” (as he says) videos on youtube, for him it wasn’t so much the toy that was inside but the experience of opening the egg to see what was inside and eating the chocolate… and mummy now has a rubber spiderman charm to use as a keyring on my keys! Trust me, surprise eggs will not be a regular occurrence! I do not need the extra clutter!

Untitled

Reading books borrowed from Nanny and Grampy

Gareth was a little concerned that it wasn’t enough, but I knew it was plenty plus he hadn’t received his gifts from any of his grandparents. I truly do not want to be dealing with an absolute ton of stuff at Christmas and wondering where on earth I am going to put everything! Dylan still prefers to “help” and play with things that aren’t toys, but he is really into cars or pushing things along the floor like a car regardless if they have wheels or not lol, and his happyland sets more recently where it holds his attention for a while and makes cute jabbering noises while playing.

Untitled

From his nanna, he received a table top kitchen (as requested), because he often liked playing with his girlfriends kitchen but I didn’t want it taking up a lot of space and worrying about where it would be stored. We have a fold away table that we put it on and it comes apart and stores nicely in a box on the kallax ^_^

Untitled

From Nanny and Grampy he had some Happyland to add to his collection, so I took his entire collection and set it up in his play area (aka the dining room… We are going to be getting a fold away dining table at some point that will just go against the wall where his toy box currently sits) Again all of it fits into a kallax box. As I write this, he has his tent and tunnel out in this area 🙂 It is simple to get things out, put them away and change things up each day, otherwise things can quickly get out of control.

He got other toys/puzzles/clothes that I have simply put away for now in his wardrobe. The CAT digger will go in the sandpit once the nicer weather comes so sits (between being played with) on top of the toy box. My aunt popped by yesterday, and with her gift I am taking Dylan to Go Bananas as he loved the soft play the other week and keeps asking to go back but to be fair our “local” one it is a bit of a rubbish one (I may or may not have smuggled him into the older kids side while it wasn’t being manned but he was still too small for it and wasn’t able to climb a lot of the parts so I had to carry him. He loved it, I was exhausted after an hour of going between the baby/toddler section and the older kids side!)

The weather hasn’t been particularly the best, though yesterday was nice and sunny, it has been raining lots, high winds and very dark in the house (as you can tell from the photo of Dylan reading “In The Night Garden” books) He doesn’t read very often, so I loved to see him reading yesterday! He is very much an on-the-go toddler with a short attention span. I do admit that I suffer with short attention span too! We are spending this time between Christmas & New Year just being together as we don’t get to do it very often. I am back at work this weekend and Gareth is back to work on Monday.

I also uploaded the tour of the flat before we moved out, to YouTube the other week. Blog post for another day though unless you want to check it out over there (mmmbisto)

“welcome home”

On the third of October I left the flat & went to work, when I finished I went home… to the house. It was a crazy day and I felt helpless at work while my dad, brother & husband moved everything. I am so grateful to my parents and my brother and his wife for this opportunity. I would have no doubt lost my flaming mind in that flat for much longer! As I pulled up in my car a bit worried about driving my car on to the drive in the garden for the first time, I heard in my head the recording of the guy on the Disney buses when he says “and welcome home”.

We still have quite a way to go: Ikea delivery this Thursday – Dylan is going to have a wardrobe! I am excited to claim some space back in my 3 drawers! Things have been a huge squeeze in there with his clothes as well especially as we are getting 2-3 year old clothes for him now, and his 12-18 month clothes no longer fit, some of the 18-24 months stuff is a bit hit and miss. (Thankfully my sister in law left some of the boys clothes at the house for us!) PLUS we are getting a kallax for the dining room for toy storage. Things are coming together and once we have the new sofa and the wall units are purchased and put up and I have got my little craft nook for a spot of scrapbooking that I haven’t done in so so long (in Dylan’s album, he’s not been born yet!) then I will start to feel a little more settled.

That and I still have a ton of KonMari to do. But baby steps at the moment.

Speaking of baby steps, my little monkey has actually gone for a nap, hence the blog post! I haven’t had some “me time” in months! Trying to squeeze in some telly catch up too!

So how is the cherub…?

UntitledStill causing mischief. He turned 2 on Sunday 11th, the day before we had a mini tea party and Gareth’s family came to visit as I finished work at 1pm, and then on Sunday I was working 10 till 4, so he got his Miles toy before I went to work and his cards to open and he stood with a giant grin on his face watching him on the telly, Miles toy in hand. Untitled

I am loving our new kitchen too. There is so much SPACE! I took the opportunity to bake with Dylan (I say that pretty loosely, I gave him the whisks from the hand mixer to lick to keep him quiet!) and we made some banana loaf with some bananas that didn’t get eaten from the party.

UntitledI picked up this book from the library and look forward to making some stuff from here too: Untitled

Dylan just loves being outside though, so for as long as it is dry I am sure we will be wrapping up warm and heading out in the garden ^_^

Untitled

I will do a short blog post soon about my first attempt with my cup, it was quite funny really, plus I have some fluffy mail on the way as I need more pads (one of them is a spiderman one!) so I can show pictures 😀

Please standby…

UntitledWe took a little time to destress yesterday by colouring in my book. I had some Disney Junior colouring prints – somewhere – but can’t find them. That seems to be a major issue with a lot of stuff. I have a “notice to quit” form for our flat to return to the council that we’ve always had… Somewhere. Dylan has a drum and one of the drumsticks is somewhere. The latest “somewhere” item is Dylan’s dinosaur jigsaw from Uncle Stewart and Aunty Claire (which is awesome because the pieces can be played with), but I cannot find all the pieces, though I had them all on Monday. We live in just 4 rooms, and there’s just **too much stuff**. It should be impossible to lose certain things but we still seem to manage to do that anyway. I have been planning a “home tour” to upload to YouTube. Once I record it, of course. And then doing one when we move. I’m hoping it is not going to be one of those things I intend to do but don’t get around to.

One of the good things about moving I suppose is that we will be forced to face all of our belongings and to save ourselves hauling lots of stuff to the new house. I actually read an article that someone wrote how they moved and never unboxed a fair few boxes even after being in their new home for months. They figured they could just get rid of it. I know that will be the case for a LOT of stuff in our attic, minus the Christmas, baby things and our weekend bag. I need to remind myself that when I see the books etc that they have been out of mind and I haven’t missed them one bit, so they can safely go.

While I don’t think we would be full on minimalists, I have been drawing inspiration from it (one reason I suppose why I was drawn to the konmari method. Which I have stalled on. Someone kick me up my arse please & shake some sense of why I am doing it in the first place) the less stuff we own would make for an easier & less stressful life, that I do believe. It has given me lots of ideas, hopefully for future posts.

My first go with the cloth pads FYI, was AMAZING but that is for another post very soon, as I also have my first cup on the way – a meluna. I also don’t do change very well so I’m already dealing with the feeling of finding it hard to breathe but at the same time trying to realise how much we all need this. Sure it’s not going to erase the issues of my husband’s long commute and therefore meaning he isn’t home so much plus me working weekends so time spent together is limited. But we are hoping the night time situation will improve with Dylan having his own room (I seriously hope!)
We have so much to do. Sigh.

So as I press post on these ramblings, it might be worth noting as to why the “standby” title. I have been waiting for a call from the solicitor this afternoon as there was a small bit of hope that we would be exchanging contracts today but that seems unlikely. Fingers crossed for Monday though!

June latest

Well the end of May, Dylan finally got to have his hair cut 🙂 He was alright to begin with but near the end he had enough and didn’t want the lady to cut his hair anymore lol, but I think it turned out great and he looked so grown up afterwards! Of course, I got absolutely soaked as we had a huge downpour that morning.

UntitledUntitled

I’m doing my best to take some time out for myself during nap time & indulge a little every now and then. This last Friday, I got a fancy bottle of raspberry lemonade and it was goooooooooood! I put my feet up and caught up on one of my favourite TV shows: The Goldbergs. It’s new to us over here so they are showing an episode every night at 7.30pm and we are nearing the end of season 2.

Untitled

We had a “fun” lunch on that same Friday and we made our own Lunchables, though Dylan just wanted to eat the crackers LOL.

Untitled

Monkey likes to climb up on one of his boxes and look out the living room window (we are upstairs so good view lol)

Untitled

When we had some gorgeous weather, we went to the park to play and in the car park ready to come home he climbed into the drivers seat!

Untitled

and this was yesterday, another lovely day after storms at the weekend, when I just didn’t bother getting him dressed after a trip to the doctors (my poor little guy has an infection, so has antibiotics & steroids) so left him in just a vest until it started to get chilly.

Untitled

Was super cute rubbing some Savlon cream into his hand this morning (he fell over at active tots yesterday and scraped his hand really badly) and he was laughing because it was tickling him 🙂

YNAB has been purchased, if you are interested, I can save you $6 🙂 just use my link here: http://ynab.refr.cc/PQSSC2F

Konmari: My books donated to library, started on paper category now, and managed to start tidying up the mess at the end of the bed this morning because it had gotten out of control.

If you weren’t aware yet either, WE ARE GOING TO BE MOVING IN A FEW MONTHS! Yippee! I have such an amazing supportive family who are helping make this happen 🙂

On the up!

My little artist made a pretty picture (with the help of mummy of course) at group the other week, and it seemed fitting that it wasn’t just displayed at home but also as my Facebook Header picture, because that is equal to the fridge at home, right? LOL

Untitled

The Konmari journey is going slooooooooow.

Untitled

However, even if we have only done some of our clothes so far, I have certainly noticed a difference! As you can see above, this is mine and Dylan’s “bottoms” drawer with trousers, shorts etc in. Dylan’s clothes no longer fit in the plastic craft tower thing, and there most certainly isn’t enough room for him to have his own wardrobe/drawers, so Dylan’s stuff is in with mine. He has a “row” down the right hand side of my drawers. Even Gareth has embraced it and sorted his clothes out too, and it is so much easier to find and get to those things. Granted I am still feeling ridiculously overwhelmed about all the other categories but knowing how much our clothes is better makes me super determined to declutter!

Untitled

I have new glasses, but since I got them Wednesday last week, I’ve not had much time to wear them. Dylan notices my glasses are different and is super grabby with them, and it’s always a pain in the tush to get used to new glasses anyway, so I probably haven’t been trying as much as I should do to make the time to wear them either. I’m on that.

Untitled

Dylan pretty much comes straight to bed with me, we don’t even try and force him to go in his cot at the moment, as he just screams and bangs his head against the side on purpose. It seems ALL of his back teeth are now coming through, poor little guy.

Untitled

The one morning when I had just a couple of hours sleep, I popped him straight into the travel cot with some toys so that I could lay down for an hour on the sofa, and in the hopes that when he had his daytime nap that I could catch a few Zzz’s on the sofa, but I struggle to nap during the day (delightful neighbours), but he came and had cuddles with me after that hour.

He does some cute little things now:

  • Either he knocks on a door, or if someone else knocks he says “Come in!”
  • He stood at the door at the weekend while I was at work and was saying: “Mumma. Mumma, come in.” Heart melting. He says Daddy, not sure why he says Mumma instead of mummy as I often refer to myself as, but it’s his thing now, and I’m trying to embrace that I’m not “mummy” but I am “mumma” lol.
  • “Peeeeeeease” when he wants something (please)
  • He’s grasping things, like when we were going to bed one night Gareth was home late so it was just the two of us, I pointed to the cot and asked “Cot?” and then pointed to the bed and said “Bed with mummy?” He pointed straight to the bed.
  • The absolute excitement when Sheriff Callie comes on tv. He LOVES Callie! He squeals and jumps up and down waving his arms and exclaims “CALLIEEEEEEEE!”
  • Trying to put his shoes on himself.
  • His Jake & The Neverland Pirate car which he now adores and likes to scoot around the flat on it (which of course is difficult because of the lack of space, but he’s got turning it around by himself down to a fine art. I just need to remind myself that Dylan is adapting just fine.)

Gareth got a new job which is a huge promotion at his workplace, and though he’s busy he has been loving it so he is happier. And for years I have been using the “Ace Budget” app for iPhone to keep us on track (luckily I was taught well with money and how to budget. I remember when I was looking to move into my flat in 2007, my dad sat me down and went through a budget with me on paper and we made sure I would be able to afford it before I moved. I still use a version of that budget to this day!). It worked OK and I never thought much of it after that as I spent money I logged it in the app against each budget and it did the job. But I heard about “You Need A Budget” or “YNAB” for short, and I decided to give it a go on the free trial. I’m about a week and a half (I think?) into it and I adore it! Though I kept a running total of what YNAB calls “rainy day funds” (glasses, christmas, car insurance, etc) on a spreadsheet and it suited us OK, I’m thinking this is a much better way to go to keep track of everything. I still have my super spreadsheet as that’s my “thing”, but for day to day spending and shifting things around and basically seeing it much better that way, I’m definitely going to purchase YNAB 🙂

So long January

My little monkey hardly ever sits still and he has the cheesiest grin! But don’t let it fool you. Within the blink of an eye, he can go from angelic looking to full on meltdown. They fail to mention that the “terrible twos” start from about 14/15 months old! I spend my days running after him, he most certainly keeps me on my toes! As for his sleep, well that is still very much an issue. He refuses to go down, he has split my lip on multiple occasions where the just thrashes about, and when he does go to sleep, he is back up just hours later. It simply seems that he is a bad sleeper, end of. Nothing I could do would change it, so I just have to go with the flow and if it means he ends up in bed with me by about 3am, then that’s what I have to do.

He even got his first shoes. We tried a couple of pairs on him, and the first pair he struggled to walk in as they seemed pretty heavy for his feet so we chose the airplane ones instead. We need to get him remeasured again now as it has been over a month.

On top of looking after Dylan, I have been cooking for the both of us too (seems daddy wasn’t too eager to try the butternut squash soup! My mum is going to try it so is coming over after work to get the last serving and I have 2 pots in the freezer for later) I had never had butternut squash before, but I cooked it anyway. Dylan is funny with his food lately… Unless he can grab it and feed it to himself, he doesn’t want to know, but I managed to get him to have a few spoonfuls and he happily dipped bread in it too and gobbled it up.

And I made some wholemeal cheese straws. All the recipes came from the Ella’s Kitchen Cookbook (both of these were from the RED book, though we have the yellow baking book too. I didn’t get on with Annabel Karmel book, and Dylan adored the Ella’s Kitchen pouches so it seemed a winner!) These are some pretty good straws, and I’m guessing because they are wholemeal, it must be better for us… right? 😉

I have been relying on my planners lots and things are improving anxiety wise 🙂 I have my book checked out of the library for the course which starts on my birthday. I have a lovely gold planner coming from China (£9!) and as my journal went walkies somewhere… Everything seems to be going missing, it’s so cramped in here that some things we are just figuring will be found when we finally move. Any who, as my journal went walkies and I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere, I also bought a “fauxbonichi” and a zippered case to keep it in 😀 That’s what my Christmas money went on. I will be doing a post when it arrives!

Countdown begins…

3 days. 3 freaking days! My not-so-little-anymore baby turns 1 on Saturday! This past year has been incredibly… I don’t even know the right word as it was just a mish mash of emotions.

Untitled

“Seriously mum? Must you insist on taking photos all the time…?” He looks so grown up!

He has for quite a few nights been so clingy that I reverted back to co-sleeping if he absolutely would not sleep in his cot. He is really out of sorts with his cold and teething. Poor little dude. But doesn’t he look so handsome with his hair styled after his bath? LOL

Untitled

Dylan loves playing with his cousins. He got to hang out with little cousin Oscar on Gareth’s birthday at a big soft play in Cardiff.

Oscar & Dylan

and lots of attention from his big cousins Elijah and Oliver too! Here he is being tickled by Elijah.

Dylan & Elijah

We shall be having a small tea party for his birthday with Gareth’s family. Super grateful that Gareth, Dylan and myself will get to spend the day together for his birthday 🙂

At the moment I am lucky that the monkey is napping in his cot at the moment so I can get all my paperwork up together for the job centre as I have an appointment tomorrow. This fortnight has seen another 5 applications made, and currently one rejection but hearing anything back is quite rare, but at least getting that rejection means you know where you stand. There is one job in that 5 I am keeping everything crossed for. It is weekend work pretty close to home and more than minimum wage in retail and I put my CV in to the store last week.

But all the stressing about everything has had consequences and that is my colitis is flaring. I am putting off phoning the IBD team at hospital for now by upping my meds to what they were originally (3 caps, once a day was keeping symptoms at bay and the nurses agreed for me to keep it at that, so I’m back to 3 caps, twice a day).

Just need to keep a positive outlook on everything.
