I have been stepping up my craft game – and by stepping up I mean actually doing some LOL. The other night after Dylan had gone to bed, I stayed up (too late!) to make some dividers for an A5 Love Doki planner I got. I have been thinking of what to do for next year as this year I have been using a happy planner and that cannot be refilled… The original plan was to do a bullet journal, and I figured that when life gets a bit too hectic a bujo may not be used to its full potential – so my personal sized Love Doki got some new WH Smiths inserts as a back up. Just in case. Some people might wonder what on earth I could possibly put in a planner seeing as I’m just a stay at home mum in the week and at the weekend I just work in a shop… But I essentially have a household to run, and a work rota to keep on top of, and believe me – if I have a bad week and I don’t fill anything in, then both myself and Dylan can stay in our jammies for a couple of days at home (in my defence, I was also not feeling too good).
I was so pleased with how my dividers came out, some ladies in a planner group I belong to asked where I was selling them lol!
Dylan also decided that he wanted to be Catboy from PJ Masks. He’s absolutely Mario mad at the moment, and often tells me that he’s Mario and I’m Princess Peach and then we continue what we are doing but I have to refer to him as Mario 🙂 But for a few days I was Night Ninja (with lots of sticky splats!) and he asked if we could make a catboy mask for him and he wanted me to have an Owlette one too, so I picked up enough foam for all 3 PJ Masks just in case he wanted to be Gecko instead – the joys of toddlers!
I ran out of hot glue sticks so only Catboy has been completed, but he loves it, even if he has picked at it and broken it a bit so it needs to be fixed! (Again, joy of toddlers lol!)
We decided to have a fairly quiet day, I was feeling less than great, so we had a PJ day. We built a fort and cuddled up with blankets and cushions in there (my legs were outside the side hole because I couldn’t fit in completely) we watched some telly, we read books, we cuddled up and played his DS. Later on that day I remembered I still hadn’t seen the Justin Timberlake concert on Netflix so we put it on and danced (I wasn’t particularly concerned about bad words during songs) took a short break for bath time and cuddled up on the sofa to finish it off. It was one of my favourite days – one that I know I will look back on and remember fondly 🙂
It seems to be getting colder, our heating was put on the other week, and something my mum used to do for us when we were little was to get 2 Cadbury mini rolls in a bowl and cover them in custard… YUMMY! The custard would melt the chocolate and was a lovely warming treat. We had no mini rolls – not even the Tesco ones we buy – but I did have some tesco cake bars and they did the trick nicely 😉 I have got to make some chocolate crumble/chocolate concrete sometime soon, but today after I got home from work and cooked our tea, both me and Dylan made M&M cookies. ^_^
I have been working on this board for about 3 years and have amassed 656 pins and counting, with 737 followers and growing daily. I am super proud of this board, and so what better way of sharing it, than creating a pin for the board itself!
- Food & sweets
- Children dress up
- and many more
All the pins are for all types of budgets, and all skill levels from packaging up store bought items (ie. Gifts in a jar, hampers etc) to making items from scratch, and for all occasions from Christmas, Mothers day, Fathers day, birthdays etc.
Some of the pins have links with How Tos and some of them are for inspiration 🙂 Hope you enjoy!
I completely came across this recipe by accident, but when I spotted it, I decided I HAD to make it! I remembered it from school and I absolutely adored this, and shared it with my school friends on Facebook before we started reminiscing about lunch times eating it and pink custard… Which as it turns out isn’t even custard.
To save a bunch of washing up, I simply mixed the whole thing in the silicone tray that I was going to bake it in. It was super quick, simple and tasted just as I remembered it. I was quite surprised I managed to make the batch last a week! I saw some other recipes that showed eggs, but this one only uses plain flour, butter, sugar and cocoa, so it is nice and cheap too! I can see this being a comfort treat in the winters around here, as it certainly is good when warmed up 🙂

Last week I had 3 days off work where I had every intention of resting up and catching up on some much needed sleep (thank to suffering with allergies keeping me up at night and the 3am ish pee I have to take every night)
What I actually did was turn the bedroom upside down!
All my scrapbooking supplies ended up all over the place!
And clothes too!
But as we are limited on space and can’t fit in a chest of drawers I thought I would empty out my craft tower as my little table would be going but then I thought we could probably use it to store some clothes in 🙂 The tower is small enough that even with the cot in, I’m sure it would fit in OK.
And while I was on it sorting out the wardrobe and clearing space, that the middle part with the shelves would be for baby supplies!
What an exhausting 3 days that was! And now I have a pile of stuff to get rid of. Clothes will be donated and I think I will sell all the craft stuff as a bumper lot for cheap on a local site. But glad that’s sorted and one less thing to do!
And now I have a proper bump! It’s hard to believe I am 19 weeks tomorrow… 1 week away from being at the half way mark! Now if only the hospital would hurry up and send me my 20 week scan date through, it seems like I’m the only one in my November group to still be waiting 🙁
I am back to Zumba classes 🙂 So fab to be with such lovely ladies, and they were all talking about a video which Reg gave us a demonstration of (minus the Zumba men!) So glad to be back.
I’ve also been on Illustrator which just does not want to co-operate on my laptop. I managed to export 2 of my vector images but for the last 2 it claimed I did not have enough memory to complete the operation. Thank heavens for smart layers! I copied and pasted the vectors into photoshop.
8 papers made for a new “Shout It Out” kit I’ve been toying with for Hanson Crafts. Hopefully will lead on to phone wallpapers, 10×8 print to go with the subway art I made… My vectors are far from perfect though, but I made them so they’re good enough for me ^_^
Christmas Eve is tomorrow! Can we just pause for a little bit, I have 2 more presents left to finish! Only have half a day at work to get through before swinging by the shop for last minute essentials and hubby’s stocking gifts.
I cheated with everyone’s presents at work this year, I found some Christmas scented tea lights on sale in Sainsburys, so bought a box of those (bonus for me, I get the left overs!) and some of the Soft Caramels from Tesco. Cheap and cheerful! I had some wrap left over from the easter eggs last year so I used the last of that to make them look pretty! It’s OK, everyone has already received them 😉
Oliver made us some ornaments for the tree 🙂
And yesterday Elijah was playing at Nan Irene’s, as it was the Saturday before Christmas we had a full house!
A lot of stuff is going on at the moment, so I will be missing in action (though I may tweet a little, so keep your eyes peeled and follow me! @mmmbisto ) I shall be spending time with family and will not be blogging again until the New Year. So I will leave you saying:
MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So a couple of my online twitter/instagram/facebook friends have quite a lot to answer for 😉 Katy started a group on facebook for Smashers which she invited me to, but I didn’t smash… Well I do now after seeing everything has been up to!
I ordered some smash supplies, and then I came up with an idea as I was stroking my new supplies! I went to Paperarts and got some cardstock that matched my kit that I designed.
I still hadn’t done a minibook for the concert back in November!
So I finished the mini book (pictures to come when I have better light in which to take photos!)
And I designed a Hanson Smash book, and fully assembled it!
I smashed a couple of pages…
Which I also figured to go with a smash book and to make a mini book, people need some journalling blocks! So I designed some of those too! I hope to get pictures, downloads and tutorials to follow on the Hanson Crafts site shortly I hope 🙂
So a lot of my hoodies are either (1) falling apart or (2) too small. I love my Hanson hoodies with a passion though my Walk one is a little too small for me right now *sniff* (well it IS an extra small after all!), so I decided instead of the top that I wanted to decorate, I was going to do something a little different. So a trip to Matalan and a black hoodie later, I got home to cut the Hanson symbol inside a hidden Mickey (my two loves: Disney and Hanson!) and I just hoped that it would work! I ironed the freezer paper on, painted on the metallic silver paint, let it dry learning a lot as I peeled the paper away once it had done… and it’s not perfect but I am super happy at my new hoodie! The DIY will be up at Hanson Crafts this weekend I hope 🙂 it’s so nice and soft to wear, I can quite happily snuggle down in it! It’s a nice little comfort while at work.
Kelly Purkey’s post was something that was quite refreshing to read. I appreciate those kind of posts, especially when I see her photos and swoon over them and think how lucky she is.
And whose life doesn’t look lush and gorgeous when you add a little Valencia filter on Instagram
I’m slowly settling now, things being all over the place isn’t really freaking me out now. In fact, I managed to fit in a Zumba session (a 45 minute one on medium intensity… what was I thinking!?) I weighed in on Monday. A pound gained in two weeks, could have been worse but I still have 10 lb to lose.
But I felt good for it. Such relief for things to start feeling “normal” 🙂 And look at our green beans and our tomatoes!
Trying to come out of hibernation though 🙂 but on Tuesday the weather girl said “Don’t be fooled, it is spring not winter!” come on spring I know you’re here hiding somewhere. But in the meantime, snuggling on the sofa for big bang theory and then how I met your mother… Thursdays are my new favourite!
After the announcement that Hanson.net were stopping their web space, I quickly uploaded what I did have of my site up to my domain and now it is pretty much complete. I have a fab idea that I hope to do this weekend as a craft (it’s actually part Hanson, part Disney after the concerts at Epcot and I saw another fan with a particular hoodie, I decided I had to have a top with the same thing on it!) So please come and peruse my
(PS. we also have a Facebook group!)

2011 was undoubtedly an awful over all, but there were some noteworthy moments. But onwards and upwards, because 2012 has GOT to be a good year for us!
