Family Love
We have my cousin’s daughter’s Christening coming up soon so I made this from the Silhouette Store. They have such lovely stuff there!
I also had fun chatting with Lauren today. She came and sat on Nan’s lap and I snapped this picture:
It was overcast today and I had my kit lens on my camera like a numpty. I really should check it before I leave the house. I was hoping to catch Erin today, but she didn’t go to nan’s today. Still, I get lots of photos very soon
And of course, the best Nephew in the world, Oliver! With cute haircut from mummy and daddy.
She’s so cute!
Nearly Over
Totally loving seeing everyone’s Week In The Life. Ali Edwards [1] [2] [3] [4] and Cathy Zielske’s [1] [2] to name but two
I really do love this sort of project I really do, and it’s just as cool to see how everyone else live their lives.
I will leave you with a few pictures (most of which are from today, but a couple from others) before I get on to watching TV (Ashes to Ashes is coming on BBC 1 in just a couple of minutes!) This weekend I plan on finishing off the template I started for this project, and I hope to get a lot of these scrapped.

A week in the life
Many MANY years ago, on Dodo’s message board (which is no longer around) and we used to do this thing called “Daily Grind” project. You can still view mine right here: http://www.kirstybase.com/photolog/ It went on for 5 wonderful years and I have my life captured from such a long time ago
People from all over the world shared their stories and photos and it was just a great experience and a peek in to other cultures.
Being a scrapbooker I decided to put them into an album, just plain and simple like I did on my photolog. I came up with a sketch and had matching KI Memories stuff from a few Christmasses previous and put it in an album (also matching KI Memories lol) Now it’s not amazing to look at, but the story is there, and that’s all that matters
Ali’s Basics post is here: http://www.aliedwards.com/2010/04/the-basics-of-documenting-a-week-in-your-life.html I love her design for her album and how it looks, so I think I may just scraplift it!
I’m currently fixing my computer, hope it works soon!
Snow Day!
Yesterday was a nice surprise as we had a bit of snow and a couple of people were sent home. This morning the alarm went off and I headed straight for the curtain to see a heck of a lot of snow. My parents couldn’t get their car out and quite a few of my neighbours came out took one look at their car and headed back inside. One van tried to get in our cul-de-sac and it took a while! I phoned some colleagues and spoke to my boss and in the end decided on a snow day!
There’s just something about snow that makes everything look so pretty
I leave you with this image of my brother’s snow man in his garden:
Quality time
Ahhh. quality time with the kiddos
We were lucky they were all with us but that also kinda meant there was a bit of chaos lol! I was here there and everywhere with them. Much treasured and very rare time with my god daughter Emily reading, a book about summer how lovely
Lauren is getting big already too! Here she is saying cheese to me
Liam kept himself to himself for a little while, colouring in
and Morgan drew a picture
and then soon after all the kiddos were playing!

the funniest thing was Liam had to go, so Kenz had to let him have a quick go in the tunnel… and quick was the word, as soon after Liam had gone into it, Kenzie climbed in there with him lol!

Mum was also sat in Gramp’s chair, giving Felix lots of fuss. Her hair is growing back now and she’s much happier now it’s not in knots.

Busy Day
I have pretty much spent my entire Sunday researching, doing web design stuff etc. I am pooped lol. But I am shutting down shortly to watch CSI NY which I missed yesterday after me and Gareth had a Big Bang Theory marathon (we bought season one yesterday lol)
I haven’t had time to play with my latest Studio Calico kit yet either… and the new thickers are just calling my name…
and I got the coolest Starbucks mug yesterday too
I saw it and thought it was so cute – just like their paper cups. So I had to get it for my hot chocolate.
Bit misty eyed!
At my nan’s house yesterday, she was going through the photos of Lauren’s Christening. I had put all the photos on to CD for my Aunt who went to Asda and got some prints for nan
Lauren had some professional shots done (which looked so cute btw!) and my Aunt had been discussing just how much these prints were! £18 for a print that would cost pence if you got them developed yourself… I said this is how the photographers make their money! I’m guessing the photographers might have had a small fee if not done it for free, to photograph the children around our hometown at the local paper… They are running a baby competition as they always do – only to enter you must have a photo done by the photographer – you cannot enter your own. That’s when they charge the parents such high fees for prints, as that’s where they make their money.
Anywho, back to my point.
So my nan was completely gushing over my photos. I just love taking them, and I do my best, and ultimately it’s all headed for the designated scrapbooks anyway – so in this case the photos were going to end up in Lauren’s album. But it was what she was saying about the photos that made me get a little choked up lol. She held up a photo of Leanne and said: “This looks like a professional took it!” and continued to go on about how wonderful the shots were.
Awwwwwwwwww
And speaking of photography, I got these shots from Claire’s mum – which other than the group photo I took at the end on timer and did a mad dash to get in the photo & the one my dad took of me, Claire and Stewart – proves I was there lol!

Christening
Lots and lots of pics, so the ones of the event itself will be under the cut… So, yesterday afternoon I had a Eureka moment when I remembered that I got all of the information for Emily’s book on Wikipedia, and I had it in my head to do something similar for Lauren’s.

and for the Christening itself, it was cool
Lots of pictures lol!
… and a fun night was had by all!
Stewart was originally in his wedding suit, and Claire her wedding dress, but as the night progressed they both changed – although Stewart was the first one to change lol!
It was seriously a great night
Bit bummed out that someone managed to get what I can only suggest is a big cola stain on the white linen guestbook I made. Dad is helping me to get it out with some upholstery cleaner, so fingers crossed. Mum cried when I took it to my nan’s house to show everyone. It was the first time she saw it. Everyone said I should have been so proud of it, but I was kinda nit-picking at things. When you make something yourself you notice all the little flaws in it cos you know it’s there lol. But no one else noticed luckily.
My photobooks came yesterday too and were a big hit. Mum and dad have theirs and Stewart has stolen mine so he can carry it around with him easily and have all the photos with him to show people. I think he suggested we buy another one lol, so maybe the new one will be mine this time lol!
I bought a gorgeous wedding album from WH Smiths as well (cost quite a heck of a lot, but I didn’t get S&C a wedding present, so this and their scrapbook will be their present from me), and the plan is to meet with Claire’s parents to exchange wedding photos, so I can put some of theirs into S&C’s album too. Dad got a really candid one of me, Stewart and Claire before everyone started getting ready for the wedding. We’re all sat, my eyes glued to the TV. I think we were watching something on MTV about Transformers movie… otherwise Stewart had just changed the channel and we were sat watching Jimmy Neutron on Nickelodeon.
